News
January 21 - Come on out to the Los Angeles Art Show this week, January 22-25 at
the L.A. Convention Center.  You'd have to travel around the world to see the amount
of quality galleries and fine art at this show.  Also, I'll have a piece up at the Art Rental
& Sales Gallery, LACMA booth, so come have a look.  
Also, I just got back from a great trip to Palm Springs to gather inspiration for my next
solo show.  Stay tuned for all the details...
January 5 - Happy New Year!  I hope everyone had a great 2008.  Starting the year
off with a bang, I'll be in the group show
Size Doesn't Matter at Terrence Rogers

opening January 11th and ending February 28th.  This will be a great show
featuring smaller sized works by some of the gallery's many artists.  Come out to the
opening party, Jan. 11th 2-5pm.  
Also in January, I'll have a piece going to the
Los Angeles Art Show at the booth of
the Art Rental & Sales Gallery, LACMA.  This a fun show where galleries from all
over the world meet to display some of their top art.  This year, due to popularity,
they've moved from their old venue to the L.A.Convention Center.  The L.A. Art Show
runs from January 21-25th (

December 8 - The deadline for the Holiday painting auction
is almost here.  Get your bid in now for the

February 25 - Just announced: I'll have 4 new pieces up at the 12th Annual

April 22 - I just posted another small painting on ebay for auction.  Its an oil painting
of a classic Swiss Miss modern house in Palm Springs.  Be sure you check it out

Also, coming up May 17th is the 30th Anniversary of the
Venice Art Walk &
Auctions
.  Come out for this fun event that showcases over 400 pieces of art and
over 60 artists' studios.  Definitely the quintessential art event in L.A.
May 28 - Just announced, my painting Krisel House With Queen
Palm
will be the featured piece in this year's Art Auction 13 at the
Long Beach Museum of Art.  This is a really big honor to have
the chosen piece that will be representative of the auction at this
world class art museum.  So come out on Sunday, Sept. 20th for
this fun and enriching event.  Time and prices to follow soon.
June 15 - New painting up for auction!  Check out Palm Springs Poolside Study
just posted for auction on eBay.  This is a fun piece of a lounge chair sitting
poolside in the Palm Springs sun.
Also, be sure to contact me if you are interested in any commissioned work or if
you know of any mid-century Modern homes that you think I'd like.

July 13 - New painting up for auction!  Check out Pink Pool
Inner Tube Study just posted for auction on eBay.  This is a
fun piece of a pink inner tube floating around a beautiful
turquoise pool in the Palm Springs sun.
Also, I just posted another painting, a larger piece titled
House At Sunset.  Auction ends in just a few days, so be
sure to get your bid in now.   
Lastly, my upcoming Palm Springs series that's been in
the works for some time now, will debut in February 2010
during the famous Modernism Week celebration in Palm
Springs.  This will be a great opportunity to showcase
some of my strongest work in the all new Terry Martin

August 4 - I just want to thank everyone who made it out to Gallery 825's Art
Auction last Saturday night.  The gallery was packed as droves of people came out
for fine art and drinks, all benefiting the arts in L.A.  
Also, I just posted my exhibition schedule for the rest of the
year (left side of this page).  Be sure you check it out and
mark down the dates of the shows you'd like to see.  
You'll also notice my Summer "Cash For Clunkers" series
featuring some classic paintings I've done of clunkers.

August 10 - If you haven't had a chance to look at my "Cash For Clunkers"

August 24 - Come out this weekend (Aug. 28-30) to the Denver Modernism
Show
!  This fun-packed, three day show will feature all sorts of Mid-century booths
with furniture, artwork, and other furnishings for sale.  In addition, there will be a
classic car show, concerts and entertainment, a tiki lounge, and an art gallery
jurored by the world famous Shag.  I'll have a piece included in the show, so come

September 8 - This month is the kickoff for the Long Beach Museum of Art's Art
Auction 13!  Come out to the Museum from the 4th through the 19th to preview all
the artwork that will be up for auction on the 20th.  The preview is free and open to
the public, but if you are interested in attending the exciting auction event, please

October 8 - Big news this Fall!  First, I have been selected to exhibit at Los
Angeles's
Couturier Gallery in the Group Show Los Angeles Currents.  I'll be
showing with 6 other artists in this exhibit that opens Nov. 7th through Dec. 30th.

January 6 - Happy New Year!  As I start this year, I have some exciting news
about exhibits and artwork.  I am pleased to announce that my long awaited Palm
Springs solo show will open Saturday,
February 13th, 2-5pm, at the all new
Terrence Rogers Fine Art gallery, Palm Springs.  This is an extension of the
Terrence Rogers gallery that I show at in Santa Monica, and they are sure to bring
you museum caliber shows in a retail location.  Please join us for the opening
which also takes place during the popular
Palm Springs Modernism Week.  My
show opening is featured on the schedule of events, so be sure to get to the show
early as it will get packed out.  
My Palm Springs exhibition is the culmination of a year's
worth of painting.  I've been focusing on the distinct
architecture, lighting, and culture of the desert region
which has preserved it's mid-century vibe.  This body of
work celebrates and muses on what makes this period of
design so inspiring.

February 11 - Just a reminder - my Palm Springs exhibition opens this weekend!

proud and privileged to have a permanent home alongside their other talented artists.

June 14 - Fresh off the easel is this painting of a classic New Yorker parked in a  
driveway in Palm Springs.  This was a piece that I had
thought about getting done for my PS show last February,

July 8 - I am pleased to announce my first show in San Francisco taking place this

August 2 - I am pleased to finally unveil my painting for the Colas Foundation's 2010
acquisitions.  This 41x59" painting was commissioned by the Foundation
, based in
Boulogne-Billancourt, France, which heads up infrastructure projects all over the world.  
For the past 18 years, they have selected distinguished artists to create a piece that
will be added to their extensive collection.  I feel honored to be
one of the fifteen
recognized and become a part of their roster of talented artists.  If you're planning on
traveling, there will be a vernissage event taking place October 7th to unveil the
acquisitions.  I will be in attendance.
