"Modern Society" Exhibit

I'm proud to announce my latest exhibition at the George Billis Gallery NYC, titled "Modern Society."  This series continues my exploration into midcentury architecture and design found in New York City, but focuses on the cultural centers and glamorous institutions that signaled its strength – and enchantment – in the 1950s and 60s. Covering such bewitching landmarks as Lincoln Center, the Guggenheim, and 5th Avenue stalwart Bergdorf Goodman, this series delves into how high design from this groundbreaking Modern period shaped metropolitan society and reinforced New York as a cultural capital.

New Prints

Summer Cityscape Show

"Modern Leisure" Exhibit Coming Up

We're one week away from the opening reception of my latest solo show, titled "Modern Leisure," debuting April 8th, 5-8pm at the George Billis Gallery Los Angeles.  This brand new series dives into the mid-century leisure culture that was - and still is - prevalent in Southern California. Focusing on the sunny mid-century architecture and design found in the region, the work covers the vacation homes, the swimming pools, and the classic cars that helped give California its "cool." From Palm Springs to Los Angeles, and points in between, this series of paintings will be a return to the suburban post-war pop culture that first opened up my work to the gallery world.

The exhibition will be up through May 13th.

Modern Leisure Solo Show Opens April 8th

I'm pleased to announce that my next solo show, titled "Modern Leisure," opens April 8th, 5-8pm at the George Billis Gallery Los Angeles.  This show will focus on the sunny mid-century architecture and design found throughout Southern California.  From Palm Springs Alexander tracts to Los Angeles Eichler homes, this series will be a return to the suburban post-war culture that I started out painting.

Limited Edition Print Release

LA Weekly Feature

Ink Drawings

Crisis In Six Scenes

Cityscape Show

Midcentury Manhattan Exhibit 3.3.16

After much anticipation, I'm happy to announce my next exhibition for 2016 will open March 3rd at the George Billis Gallery's New York City location.

Titled "Midcentury Manhattan," this series delves deeper into my exploration of the architecture, car culture, and design aesthetic that flourished in New York City in the 1950s and 60s.  At a time when the city was transitioning from WWII aftermath to Modern metropolis, a whole new vision of contemporary city life was taking shape.  Brownstone buildings turned into glass skyscrapers, a simplified clean aesthetic replaced ornate details, and entire city blocks were leveled to make way for the almighty automobile. Focusing on this duality of old and new, my work captures a changing New York - the old neon signage of the neighborhood pharmacy, as well as the sleek interiors of Mies van der Rohe's groundbreaking Seagram Building.  You'll find classic storefront windows displaying 1950's fashion, juxtaposed with office windows of a Madison Ave skyscraper. Viewed as a whole, my series aims to take viewers to this transformative period of time - and might even remind them that many of these scenes can still be found in Manhattan today.

Miami Red Dot Art Fair

SF Showing
